public class JListMulti

extends JList

Extends the JList class to allow the user to select multiple list items by specifying a Vector of items to select. Also provides a method to retrieve a Vector of selected items.

JListMulti

public JListMulti()

Constructs a JListMulti with an empty model. Set the selection model to multiple interval selection also since using another selection model would defeat the point of using this class.

JListMulti

public JListMulti(Object[] listData)

Construct a JList that displays the elements in the specified array. This constructor just delegates to the ListModel constructor. Set the selection model to multiple interval selection also since using another selection model would defeat the point of using this class.

Parameters:

listData - The objects to put into the list.

JListMulti

public JListMulti(Vector listData)

Construct a JList that displays the elements in the specified Vector. This constructor just delegates to the ListModel constructor. Set the selection model to multiple interval selection also since using another selection model would defeat the point of using this class.

Parameters:

listData - The list of elements to display in the list.

Method Detail

setSelectedValues

public void setSelectedValues(Vector values)

Selects all the objects in the specified vector. To do this we need to create an array of indices as this is the only multiple selection method the JList supports.

Parameters:

values - Vector of objects to select.

getSelectedVector

public Vector getSelectedVector()

Returns the list of selected list items in a Vector. If there are no selected items then an empty Vector is returned. Items are placed in Vector in increasing index order.

Returns:

Vector of selected list items.
